A signal is a dated reason to reach out now: someone viewed your profile, commented on your post, or reacted to it. Signals help you pick who to message today, and what to say.

Where signals show up

  • In the Signals column of your contact views
  • In the contact sidebar. A company lists the signals of its contacts.
  • In filters and sorts, in every contact view
  • In inbox filters

Engaged with me

The Engaged with me view lists the people who viewed your profile or engaged with your own posts, the most recent first. It stays hidden until someone shows up in it.

Profile viewers

TalkToHumans reads who viewed your profile once a day, and adds each viewer as a contact with a Viewed your profile signal.
  • The first sync covers the last 30 days.
  • With LinkedIn Premium, you get everyone LinkedIn shows you. Without it, LinkedIn only shows the 3 most recent viewers.
  • Anonymous and private viewers are skipped.
This is the only part of signals that uses your LinkedIn account, because nobody else can see your viewers. It runs at a human pace and counts toward the Collect profile viewers limit.
Profile viewers need the Pro plan.

Signals from your own tools

Your AI agent or the API can add signals too: an event attended, a guide downloaded, a demo request. They show up next to LinkedIn signals, with the same filters. See the API docs.

Write with signals

A recent signal is the best reason to write, and a comment gives you the angle. Use profile views for timing only. β€œI saw you viewed my profile” rarely gets a reply.
