# 🎙️ Voice notes

Some messages sound weirdly formal when you type them. A quick voice note can feel much more natural.

TalkToHumans brings LinkedIn voice notes to your desktop, so you do not have to find your phone halfway through the conversation.

## Record an audio message

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the conversation">
    Choose the person you want to message and make sure Chrome has microphone permission for TalkToHumans.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start recording">
    Click the microphone control in the composer or press `V`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Stop and attach">
    Press `Esc` to stop recording. Listen to the result, then press `Enter` to attach it to the message.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send">
    Confirm the right audio is attached, then send it through the normal composer flow.
  </Step>

## If recording does not work

→ Check microphone permission in Chrome.\
→ Confirm the TalkToHumans extension is enabled and current.\
→ Reload the conversation after changing permissions.\
→ Record a short test before a long message.
